Typically the story we hear goes something like this…“When I wake up every morning the first couple of steps are really painful but after 5-10 minutes the pain starts to subside a little. I usually can make it through my day but I can always feel a little discomfort in my foot. If I try to run or jog the pain increases thus causing me to stop which is very frustrating. I went to my podiatrist and was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. I was given a steroid injection in my foot (which was very uncomfortable) but provided me with temporary relief allowing me to tolerate jogging and walking again. After about a month or two the pain returned but this time it was a little worse than before. My podiatrist told me that I could go back for another injection in 3 or 4 months if the pain returned but I want lasting solutions and not just a quick fix. I really don’t want surgery or injections but I’m starting to feel like that is my only option.
