Have you been resting, icing, stretching, and performing exercises that you saw on youtube with no luck of eliminating your shoulder pain? If so, continue to read…
Many people believe that their shoulder pain will go away on its own if they just “rest” or “take it easy”. Truth be told, resting and taking easy rarely provides the long lasting relief that many are searching for. After months of “taking it easy” many are frustrated that the pain and discomfort is still present and sometimes even worse than what it was initially.
Does This Sound Like You?
In our clinic the story typically goes something like this… “I started having shoulder pain “X” months ago so I went to my MD. They told me that I just slept wrong and gave me a steroid pack to see if it would help. Initially I received a little relief but it wasn’t long lasting so I went back to my MD and a MRI was performed. The MRI showed a torn rotator cuff and I was prescribed pain medication and/or an injection and was told if this didn’t help I would need surgery. I am terrified of surgery because I have heard how difficult of a recovery it can be and how long I would have to refrain from certain activities. I am fearful that this will be my new “normal” and I will have to stop enjoying life because of my pain. This is my last last stop, my last hope, and if this doesn’t work I guess I will have surgery”. If this sounds like you, I want you to know that something can be done to provide lasting results other than pain medication, surgery, or injections.

There are actually 4 different muscles that make up the rotator cuff. After age fifty 30-50% of people have some kind of rotator cuff pathology and are asymptomatic. This means that it is important to determine what the TRUE cause of the pain is. Many times shoulder pain is multifactorial meaning that there are multiple problems that need to be addressed to achieve long lasting results. Fun fact: Many studies have shown that physical therapy can be just as effective as surgery when addressing rotator cuff tears!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I found Dr.Evans after experiencing an injury that resulted in a very painful, immobile shoulder. It was important to me to find a therapist who did not push pharmaceuticals.
He took a lot of time to assess the injury, before moving ahead with a treatment plan that was both affordable, and worked with my schedule.
He also provided home exercises, and consistent follow up.
Thanks to Brandon, I now have the use of my shoulder- without drugs!
He is very knowledgeable, caring, and has my highest recommendation! –Ruth Neunlist-Conn
